Indian Couple Gets Engaged At Bridgerton Experience In Melbourne

If there's one TV show at the moment that epitomises absolute regal romance, it's Bridgerton! So, it's no surprise that one groom-to-be chose the Netflix show's new 'The Queen's Ball: A Bridgerton Experience' in Melbourne as the perfect place to propose.

Gursehaj Singh got down on one knee to pop the big question to his partner Harleen Kaur... and of course she said yes!

Kaur had no idea that Singh was about to propose, and with a little help from the streaming platform and event organisers, Singh was able to pull off the magical surprise without a glitch. When the Queen picked Kaur as the 'Diamond' of the season, Kaur walked up to a platform at the centre of the room, before Singh appeared with the big rock and his big question.

"The queen may have chosen you to be the diamond of the ball, but to me, you're my diamond," Singh affectionately said to his fiancée in a post-proposal interview shared on Netflix's Instagram account.

"It was amazing, it was a wonderful surprise. She had no idea and it was amazing the way it all went down – really appreciate it."

Since its release in 2020, Netflix's Bridgerton has become a global sensation around the world. Its second season released in 2022 was particularly a hit with South Asian audiences, thanks to the introduction of Simone Ashley as Kate Sharma, and Charithra Chandran as Edwina Sharma. In Season 3 released earlier this month, Ashley returns as Kate as she and her on-screen husband Anthony Bridgerton (played by Jonathan Bailey) enjoy their honeymoon and wedded bliss.
