Killing Eve actress Sandra Oh made headlines earlier this year when she was the first Asian woman to be nominated for an Emmy for Lead Actress.
Now the former Grey’s Anatomy star has been announced as the host of the 2019 Golden Globes alongside Brooklyn Nine-Nine’s Andy Samberg.
What’s more, she’s MAKING HISTORY as no person of colour has ever hosted the Globes.
Not only will the 47-year-old be the first Asian person to host the Golden Globes, but she’ll be the first Asian person to host any of the major awards shows.
As Bustle points out, the Oscars have only been hosted by two women of colour – Diana Ross and Whoopi Goldberg.
Meanwhile the Emmys have only been hosted by one woman of colour, Oprah Winfrey back in 1996 when she shared the hosting duties alongside Michael J. Fox and Paul Reiser.
Sandra and Andy, who previously presented together at the Emmys this year, will be hosting the Golden Globes on January 6. Sandra’s also nominated by the way, so that’s a double win already.
