The 'Never Have I Ever' Season 4 Release Date Is Here

The wait for the fourth and final season of 'Never Have I Ever' is almost over with Netflix announcing that Season 4 will premiere on June 8.

The wait for the fourth and final season of 'Never Have I Ever' is almost over. This week Netflix announced that Season 4 will premiere on June 8, and also dropped the juicy trailer teasing what's in store at Sherman Oaks this year.

With John McEnroe returning as the hilariously entertaining narrator, we see a sneak peek of the drama that Devi Vishwakumar (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan) and her friends face after returning to school for their final year. From prom to graduation, a vandalised car, therapy and a new love interest Ethan (Michael Cimino), there's plenty of enticing drama to end a series that has garnered praise for its South Asian representation.

When Season 4 was confirmed in August last year, series creators Mindy Kaling and Lang Fisher shared some details about what to expect.

"We've just been renewed for a fourth and final season, which we are absolutely thrilled about," they said in a statement at the time. "We can't wait to reveal all the steamy romance and hilarious adventures we have in store for you. Thanks to all our fans for your support – especially you #Bevi and #Daxton stans. We love you!"

Since premiering in April 2020, 'Never Have I Ever' has followed teen Devi as she's navigated high school life, grieved her father's death, connected with family and tried to find her sense of self as a daughter of Indian immigrants. The show has attracted praised for representation and exploration of issues impacting young South Asian people, but it has also been questioned by some in the diaspora in relation to casting, cultural accuracies and stereotyping.

While many fans want the show to continue, Mindy has always known that it will end after the fourth season.

"Four seasons for a high school show felt like it made sense," she told Entertainment Tonight in April 2022.

"They can't be in high school forever. We've seen those shows. Like, you've been in high school for 12 years. What is going on here? Also, the actors get older and it starts looking insane that a 34-year-old is playing a 15-year-old."

If season 4 is the final one, all we can do is embrace it fully when it hits our screens. Let the countdown begin!
